Jeff Sims became the 21st Head Football Coach at Garden City Community College on November 20th, 2014. Sims Comes to Garden City from Indiana University where he served as Senior Director of Player Personnel (2010, 2014). Sims had a two year stint at Florida Atlantic University serving as Associate Head Coach, Recruiting Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach (2012, 2013).
Jeff Sims' work ethic and tireless dedication to the Broncbuster Football program is second to none. Sims' philosophy "GRADUATE, SCHOLARSHIP, CHAMPIONSHIP are the components that enable young men to achieve success in the classroom and on the field. These attributes although tried by many are achieved by few.
Jeff Sims believes in a structured day that correlates to the well-being of the student/athlete. The structure includes but is not limited to academic progress through class attendance and study hall, physical conditioning and social development of every student/athlete in the football program.
Jeff Sims' management of his coaching staff is impeccable. The daily grind developing coaches to become the best version of themselves is quite evident in all phases of coaching. Developed a Player Personnel Division at Indiana University from inception to 30 member department. The department has evaluated and recruited the Top 2 recruiting classes in university history. In 2014, on pace to have the Top Class in university history. This has led to a record setting offense, the first victory verse a Ranked Opponent on the Road in 17 years, which also was the Big Ten first victory on the road verse a Ranked SEC opponent, ever.

At Fort Scott CC, inherited a program that won a total of eleven games in five seasons, yet proceeded to lead the program to a 32-11 record in four seasons as head coach
Recruited and coached 37 players that have played in the NFL including Jason Pierre-Paul and Lavonte David
Led the Fort Scott program to a 9-2 season in 2008 and its first undefeated Jayhawk Conference championship since 1973
Developed 57 KJCCC All-Conference players, 11 NJCAA All-Americans, and one NJCAA National Offensive Player of the Year in 4 seasons
At Fort Scott, 111 players continued their education at a four-year university including 51 student-athletes that moved on to a D-IA program
As the head coach at Mesabi Range CC, led the program to a 13-7 overall record, including a 10-1 season in 2003 and finishing No. 14 in the NJCAA rankings and No. 2 among non-scholarship colleges. In Spring 2015 Garden City Football maintained a 2.92 GPA the highest GPA in the Football Program History.
Coach Sims is married to his best friend Lecia Sims and the have 3 children Dylan (14), Jake (13), Samantha (11).
